Tui. Sutherlands new edition to the Wings of Fire series has greatly amazed me from what happened in this story. The main protagonist, though some argue that she was the antagonist, was Peril a skywing introduced in to the series since book one. With Kinkajou injured since book seven, which is the previous one, it seems Tui. has opened up a way for us to have a skywing's perspective of the world along with an interesting skywing which is Peril. She, as most fans of this series may know, has fire scales since birth and instead killed like regular tradition/law demands, former Queen Scarlet keeps her and uses her as her killing machine. This makes Peril appear like a beast for the rest of the kingdom because they only believe she is good for nothing but for killing.
When I read this book, I was amazed to read about the thoughts occurring in Peril's head. She seems like an interesting character though there is a lot of repetition about her debates about harming other dragons and being careful.
Spoiler Alerts for this story ahead, I find it quite interesting that Soar/Shapeshifter/ Chameleon, which is his real name and form, could change in to any form he wanted. Queen Scarlet finally perished by the talons of Queen Ruby who was really Termilon, excuse me if I misspell her name, under enchantment of Chameleon which was quite interesting when you think about it. Turtle is an animus which i guess should not be a surprise considering that the royal seawing family line is full of animus dragons. The biggest surprise though is near the end where Peril destroyed Darkstalker's scroll and most readers most likely expected that Darkstalker is out of the picture. Instead, Datkstalker is released and gosh knows what will happen next in the ninth installment of this book. I am also quite curios as to where Foesplayer, Darkstalker's mother, had run off to during the fight against Winter and Peril. Well this is my opinion on the book and I am looking forward to the next one.
